Description
American Walnut #2 Common Grade Unfinished Solid Hardwood Flooring will contain a more prominent color variation between the sapwood and heartwood within the material. The color variations in heartwood and sapwood ranges from very light to tan sapwood in color with a mix of dark to medium brown heartwood. NOFMA guidelines allow for very prominent natural character such as large sized knots, a percentage of pocket knots and knot holes (easily filled in with matching knot filler), as well as medium to long length dark mineral streaks throughout. Our American Walnut #2 Common Grade is processed to NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) Rules allowing machine and natural character marks and is known to have a high percentage of heartwood that is medium to dark brown in overall color that contains a wavy to parallel grain pattern with vast differences in light to tan sapwood throughout the entire flooring.
Walnut #2 Common Grade flooring produces a dramatically, character looking, elegant floor and is known to be used in medium to high-end residential homes and buildings. Hardwood Floor Depot works solely with NWFA certified manufacturers that start the milling process with wood that is kiln dried for 30 days at 350 degrees giving more prominent strength and quality to our material Hardwood Floor Depot offers our Walnut #2 Common Grade flooring in 1’-7’ random length bundles. Average lengths will be between 2 ½’- 2 ¾’ in length. The flooring will have a four-sided tongue and groove for ease of installation. Recommended waste factor for this grade is between 12%-15%.
