Description

Red Oak #3 Common (also known as Utility Grade) Hardwood Flooring is great for low budget situations. This lower grade of flooring has a progressively lower average board length than Select and Better or #1 Common Grade. The material is bundled in 1′-7′ Random Lengths, and you may get some 6′-7′ length boards, however, we prefer to give a more accurate description and let you know to expect 1’ – 5’ lengths with an average board length of 18-20″. This grade of flooring will include all of Oak’s natural characteristic and marks including both small knots, large knots, some pocket knots which can be easily filled with matching wood filler. Also, there might be some boards that may have a broken tongue or groove, short split, or a minor crack on the butt joints that will need to be squared off. This is a value-based product that will require a little extra work but leaves you with a beautiful “Worn Rustic” looking floor.

Hardwood Floor Depot offers Red Oak #3 Common Grade that is processed to NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) Rules that admit a limited amount of common imperfections within the flooring which requires a recommended higher rate of Waste Factor (20%-30% Waste Factor) than the standard higher grades of White Oak flooring. Our solid Red Oak floors are fabricated by strict NOFMA (National Oak Flooring Manufacturers Association) Guidelines. Hardwood Floor Depot works solely with NWFA certified manufacturers that start the milling process with wood that is kiln dried for 30 days at 350 degrees giving more prominent strength and quality to our material. The end result with our Red Oak #3 Common/Utility Grade Hardwood Flooring is SIGNIFICANT SAVINGS while providing you a beautiful end product that is full of natural color and character.
