Maple #2 Common Grade (3rd Grade) Unfinished Solid Hardwood Flooring will have a great deal of variation from board to board in appearance. Expect the flooring to contain large as well as dime-sized knots and surface mineral streaks throughout the flooring. Our Maple unfinished solid wood flooring is milled by MFMA (Maple Flooring Manufactures Association) Standards allowing for board to board variation in color. Hardwood Floor Depot provides Maple #2 Common Grade that is also processed to NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) Rules allowing character marks throughout the flooring yet is known to be extremely predictable in overall color and grain variety throughout the entire wood flooring.
Maple flooring is harder and more durable than almost any other type of hardwood flooring and is great for high traffic areas. Hardwood Floor Depot works solely with NWFA certified manufacturers that start the milling process with wood that is kiln dried for 30 days at 350 degrees giving more prominent strength and quality to our material. Maple hardwood flooring is the second strongest Domestic wood available. Hardwood Floor Depot offers our Maple #2 Common Grade flooring in 1’-7’ random length bundles. Average lengths will be between 2 ½’-2 ¾’. The flooring will have a four-sided tongue and groove for ease of installation. Recommended waste factor for this grade is between 12%-15%.
