American Walnut #1 Common Grade Unfinished Solid Hardwood Flooring may contain a more prominent color variation between the sapwood and heartwood within the material. The color variations in heartwood and sapwood allows the sapwood to be very light to tan in color with the heartwood showing dark to medium brown. NOFMA guidelines allow for a prominent natural character such as small to large sized knots, a very small percentage of pocket knots, as well as medium length dark mineral streaks. Our American Walnut #1 Common Grade is processed to NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) Rules allowing machine and natural character marks and is known to have a high percentage of heartwood that is medium to dark brown in overall color, a wavy grain pattern with light to tan sapwood in a small percentage throughout the flooring.
